Sycamore Seedlings - 10 Pack
Sycamores Platanus occidentalis are a deciduous tree native to North America with wide distribution to the central and eastern United States. They thrive in a region stretching as far north as extreme southern Quebec and as far south as the Gulf of Mexico (Southeastern Texas and the southernmost tip of Louisiana). It is also colloquially known as the “buttonball tree” and “the American Planetree”.
Sycamore Seedlings Appearance
They’re a fast-growing tree with long-life, easy-growing spans from 200-600 years old. The bark of the tree produces a noticeable white color, which makes it distinctive and easy to identify even in areas with ample tree cover and vegetation.
The Beautiful Leaves Of The Seedlings
It features leaves with a dark green color and flowers that produce a red or yellow color (red for female flowers and yellow for male flowers). In the fall, it produces fruit that stays on the tree until the weather becomes colder (this happens around October, but can vary depending on the climate). In the fall, the leaves typically turn to a yellow-orange or brown color.
They are a wonderful option to use as a shade tree in landscaping due to their immense height and spread (reaching up to 100’ in width at maturity). The wood it produces also makes it a fine option for furniture and musical instruments as well.
Sycamores are an easy growing tree, needing only the necessary amount of space to grow. They have little upkeep and are easy to maintain, and their classic look provides a great option to anyone looking for shade on their landscape, lawn, property, or plot of land.
