Hamamelis is a shrub or small tree, deciduous, with beautiful yellow flowers that emerge to brighten your yard in the late winter. The tree will thrive in either full or filtered sun in USDA plant hardiness zones 5 through 8.

A Witch Hazel tree can grow to approximately 25' high, but many cut them back into a low shrub instead. The flowers give way to early spring leaves--a lovely light green that wakes up the landscape and announces the arrival of spring. Leaves are small—usually less than 4" long, with slightly serrated edges and an almost perfect oval shape.
