Pink Crepe Myrtle
Pink Crepe Myrtle
Lagerstroemia Indica is a well-loved deciduous shrub or tree that reaches a pleasing full height of around twenty feet. The eye-popping, vivid pink flowers are individual florets that combine to form generously sized clusters that present as single blooms. Once they form, the beautiful flowers will last as long as six weeks, providing tremendous color to the landscape.
This species will grow best in USDA plant hardiness zones 7 through 10 in a full-sun location in your yard.
Why Do Wholesale Nursery Customers Love the Pink Crepe Myrtle?
Wholesale Nursery sells thousands of crepe myrtles in myriad colors--and the pink crepe myrtle is one of our customers' favorites. Here are the reasons our clients go wild for this species:
- Beauty: As mentioned, the flowers are absolute showstoppers. Besides that, the gentle shape of the multiple branches that stem from a central trunk and the small, bright green, oval leaves also add to the season-long charm of the pink crepe myrtle.
- Winter bird care: Those who enjoy year-round birdwatching also enjoy this species. Those vibrant pink flowers give way to small brown seed pods that remain on the branches after the leaves drop to the ground in the autumn. There, winter birds will crack open the pods and enjoy the seeds they contain--a welcome sight for your feathered friends during the cold season.
- Easy to care for: Crepe myrtle trees are straightforward to grow and maintain. They require no shaping or pruning (unless you wish to) and are drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant, and disease-resistant. Once you plant them, keep a close eye on watering for a few months--they will need little assistance from you after that.
