They are lovely planted in the ground and would be equally as impressive as a display in a large container to welcome visitors to your home. Wholesale Nursery also often suggests these lovely flowers as the perfect housewarming gift.
The beautiful hues of deep pink, light pink, and white are an eye-popping color combination.
Dianthus Tri-Color Is an Easy-Care Plant
Sweet William is a hardy plant: disease-resistant; pest-resistant; drought-tolerant; heat-tolerant; and cold-tolerant.
Dianthus Tri-Color does not demand an immense amount of time or care. Here are a few tasks to take care of it:
- Water: This species likes about 1" of water per week. However, it can also withstand less during short dry spells.
- Drainage: Although it likes moisture, too-wet roots can damage the plant. Loosen up the soil before you plant it to ensure adequate drainage.
- Fertility: Dianthus is not particular about soil texture, but it likes fertile soils. Plan to fertilize it twice weekly. If you prefer organic measures, add organic compost, worm castings, or leaf litter several times a year.
