Foam flowers, Tiarella is a Perennial Wildflower.

This native perennial wildflower appears in thick, dense mounds of lush evergreen foliage in clumps spanning between 1-3 feet. Foliage boasts glossy, maple-like leaves with between 3-9 lobes in different hues of greens. These leaves can be feathered with red or purple veins and may take on a bronze or golden hue during colder months. Come springtime, clusters of small, star-shaped florets in shades of white and pink blossom from leafless stalks extending above the foliage bedding. Blooming foamflowers produce large quantities of blossoms clustered on each stem, reaching heights between 6-12 inches tall. Individual plants flower multiple times during the summer months if conditions are right. Foamflowers can be found in open hillsides, fields, woods, and prairies throughout most continental United States, excluding northern regions.

The leaves are deeply lobed, with the lower leaves growing on long stalks and the upper leaves growing directly from the stems. The leaves are usually covered with fine hairs and may also be sticky. They are oval-shaped and range from 6 to 12 inches long. The branches of this plant are green or red with hairless round bumps on them known as glandular trichomes, which contain sap with a strong odor resembling valerian root or maple syrup. Foam Flower is a plant that can be grown in the tropics.
