Indian Pink is a beautiful type of wildflower that is a member of the Speligia Marilandica genus families.

The name is given since it located in now North America or Native America when Indians flourished. This plant grows to only about 1-2 feet tall and is brilliant red and tubular with yellow throats. This Indian Pink needs fertile soil with high organic content to grow to its maximum potential. Partial to full sunlight is also necessary to reach the plant’s maturity. Flowers’s blooming period is between late spring early summer and is gorgeous.

Primarily confused with the Indica Indian Pink lady of the Hawthorne family which grows around 4-6 tall and wide and is known as a shrug for its round appearance. The color of this plant is revealed in the name itself, and it produces bright and dark pink leaves which is why it’s so popular. Although this flower is pink and primarily in India, it isn’t the Indian Pink of North America. The best time to plant Pink Indian seeds is in July and soil needs to be average to moist for the best results.

Another interesting fact is that hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to the Indian pink for its rich nectar.
