Mixed Color Phlox 3 For $11.99 Description

Phlox Plant is a Versatile Plant with a Beautiful Charm

Phlox is a hardy, versatile, and long-lived perennial plant with a beautiful charm. For starters, this plant comprises sixty-seven perennial and annual plants in the family Polemoniaceae, found mainly in North America and sometimes Siberia. This flower owes its enduring popularity to its clouds of willowy blooms and no-fuss nature as a cottage garden mainstay. But the absolute icing on the cake is the long flowering season presenting its varieties of flowers from early spring to the first hard autumn frost. And as plant specialist James Locklear says, "Phlox carries the garden through the dog days of summer, holding down the fort until the asters and blazing stars come on board."

This plant appears in forms and blooms spanning almost every hue in the color wheel, and it lavishly presents its cultivars in even the rarest colors. Derived from the Greek word of the same name, its etymology of 'flame' about the Phlox's many intense colors, and rightfully so. A favorite choice of perennial, primarily as petite ground covers blooming in early spring to the tall Phlox blooming in mid-to-late summer; the Phlox can grow from around six inches to four feet tall, depending on the type. In most cases, these plants appear as dainty, five-petal blossoms packed by the dozens into clusters or panicles. The Phlox does an excellent job of attracting many pollinators such as butterflies to a garden. Even after the end of its blooming, its foliage remains long-lived and rich in color, lasting in its environment for decades under optimal growth conditions.

Phlox Plant is Ideal For Your Garden and every Gardener's Choice.

Here are some of the ideal cultivars for your gardening setup if you get started with this plant. First, the creeping Phlox (or called the moss phlox in some places) is a low-growing species that works as a colorful spring carpet of sorts, and it spreads as it grows in mounds about four to six inches thick. Some popular varieties of the creeping Phlox would be the Candy Stripe, known for its pink and white flowers, and the Emerald Blue, which produces a sea of lilac-blue flowers perfect for a waterfall theme.

Another variant would be the Phlox stolonifera, which shares the creeping or moss Phlox's name, which is strikingly different. Its oval-shaped leaves distinguish themselves from the needle-shaped foliage of the creeping Phlox, and its flowers sprout from stems that rise six to ten inches above the vegetation rather than directly upon it. Other cultivars include the woodland or blue Phlox, the Drummond's Phlox, the Summer Phlox, or the Carolina Phlox.

For those who want to make your garden beautiful, you should decorate the patio or balcony with "Phlox Plant," an excellent plant.

This is a genus of about 200 flowering plants in Polemoniaceae, native to North and Central America, South America, Asia, and Europe. Phlox is a popular garden flower, with several cultivars selected for larger flowers and more vivid colors. Before planting Phlox, you should remember that it can grow up to 36 cm tall. If your balcony does not have enough light for this plant, think about planting it in pots. It will look great on a patio, deck, or another sunny place in the garden.

There are many different types of Phlox available for gardeners to choose from. Phlox are hardy perennials that require very little maintenance beyond dividing every few years to keep them thriving. Many types of Phlox can be planted with other perennials and grasses as a groundcover or border around your garden beds. Several types make excellent cut flowers that add color to your home or workspace during any season.

Tuberous Phlox grow well in full sun to partial shade and require sufficient water. They produce single, semi-double, or double flowers that grow in groups called racemes on 12 inches tall or taller stems. They have a delicate appearance and a sweet fragrance popular in flower bouquets and corsages. Creeping Phlox produces small flowers with a strong sweet aroma from spring to fall.

One of the most popular uses for Phlox is in landscaping because they come in many colors and sizes. They can be planted as borders or accents along walkways and driveways; they can also be produced along with house foundations, in gardens or flowerbeds, and as ground cover on patios and decks. Phlox will grow well in any soil type but best in rich soil that drains well and has good drainage to avoid root rot.

Purchase phlox plant as it is an excellent herb for treating various ailments. It is used in many medicines for curing pains and aches, fever and colds, digestive problems, and kidney issues. The plant contains acetylcholine, coumarin, and flavonoids, considered an anti-inflammatory agents for treating arthritis. You can treat minor cuts with the leaves of these plants. Alternatively, add some crushed leaves to apple cider vinegar or witch hazel to make a poultice that you can apply to your cut. That will help the bleeding stop, prevent the wound from getting infected, and speed up the healing process.

Phlox plant for sale has been used as an insect repellent since it has a somewhat minty odor that insects don't like. It also attracts butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds as pollinators for nearby plants.

You can eat raw or cooked flowers, which were once cultivated in China and Japan for human consumption. Today they're still used to flavor certain foods and drinks in Japan, called Hana-Sansan (flower three-san).
