Uvularia Grandiflora is a perennial, shade-loving flower that will provide your garden with cheerful and sunny yellow color in the spring. It will thrive in partially-shaded to full-shade light conditions in USDA plant hardiness zones 4 to 9.
Bell Wort takes its name from the shape of its trademark yellow flowers, which last for about two weeks each season. Each blossom has six petals that form a cone or bell shape that dangles from the tip of a lovely, bright green stem. The flowers drape gently, dangling like a ringing bell. Their fragrance is softly floral and slightly earthy--they smell like early spring.
The plant's leaves are strap-shaped, long, and slender. They measure about 6" long and 2" wide. They create a lovely, medium-green canvas for showing off those beautiful, bright yellow flowers.
The plant's other common names also describe the flowers. You might know this lovely flowering perennial by the following nicknames: merry bells, bellflower, yellow bellwort, or great merry bells.
Caring for Bell Wort Plants
Bell Wort plants are a North American native species, so they are well-adjusted to many climate conditions in the United States. They originated in the dense hardwood forests of the southeastern region and would appreciate a similar habitat.
They love a semi-shady or full shade, moist, quick-draining spot in the garden, complete with lots of organic material. So when you plant your bell wort plants, break up the soil to allow for water, nutrient penetration, and drainage. Amend the earth with compost or peat moss. Then, provide about an inch of water each week.
This plant is hardy and self-sustaining; if you keep it mulched and moist, it will flourish without undue attention.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants
Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receiving unless weather-related problems prohibit planting. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water for the first week daily after planting.
