Hepatica Plant

Hepatica Plant
Hepatica
Hepatica Acutiloba (previously Nobilis) is a lovely, low-maintenance, fast-growing perennial flower that loves a spot in the total or partial shade. It will grow well in USDA plant hardiness zones 4 to 8.
Hepatica gets its common names, liverleaf, and liverwort, from the appearance of the plant's leaves with three lobes resembling a liver's shape.
Caring for Hepatica Is Almost Effortless
Hepatica flowers can flourish in almost any environment. It is very undemanding of care, needing well-drained but moist soil. They require only about an inch of weekly water and twice-yearly fertilizer (early spring and late summertime). This wildflower loves moisture but will also adjust to dry conditions and tolerate periods of short drought and heat.
Hepatica is unfussy about soil type and can grow in some of the most challenging conditions. If you have a consistently moist spot in your garden where little will grow due to heavy shade, Hepatica could be the perfect solution to fill that space. It's also lovely to install near a water feature or fountain that creates much spillage and stays wet.
Hepatica Is a Beautiful Wildflower
This perennial will reach only about 1' tall and 1' wide at maturity and blooms in the early spring. The flower colors will vary, but they will generally be white, light pink, light blue, or lavender. They have a lovely saucer-shaped flower head with a yellow or green center.
The stems have light hairs, and the leaves are bright green, multi-lobed, and broad.
