Scarlet Red Maple Description

Scarlet Red Maple, Acer Rubrum is an Adaptable Deciduous

Scarlet red Maple is one of the reasons why this colorful tree is so famous. Imagine looking out on the bleak January landscape and seeing a pop of red. It’s a warming sight. The redbuds also introduce you to the spring flowers. You’ll enjoy the red stalks tucked amid the dark green leaves in the summer. However, autumn creates the grand finale with the Scarlet Red Maple as the showcase. It casts brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds to send you into the respite of winter’s redbuds.

Scarlet Red Maple, Acer Rubrum is an Easy Care Landscaping Favorite

With a growth rate of between 13 and 24 inches annually, Maple’s mature height averages forty to 50 feet. They’re native to the eastern edge of the Plains moving northeast to the Atlantic and are hardy in zones 3 through 9. The Scarlet Red Maple does best in a total of 6 hours of sunlight per day and wet loamy soils; however, this Maple also tolerates some drought conditions and flooding. Because of its adaptability, this tree is a landscape favorite throughout the United States. It is an easy-care addition to your garden and adds year-round interest.

You will do your part by supporting the wildlife when you plant a Scarlet Red Maple. It supplies food for squirrels, deer, birds, and rabbits. This stately tree, which coincidentally is Rhode Island’s symbol, will be your landscape’s design prize. Rhode being the Dutch word for red, the state and tree are aptly named. You will receive a top-quality healthy Scarlet Red Maple bare-root ready to plant.
