This plant looks great when in bloom. It will also add significant colors of green to gardens. It looks great when added to gardens with other plants. This perennial will grow to be 1 to 3 feet tall. It will grow best in areas that have full sunlight. This plant will look beautiful when in bloom.

Solomon Seal, Polygonatum Grows Best in Areas of Full Sunlight and Looks Great Added to Gardens with Other Plants

Solomon Seal is viewed as a naturalized plant in Ireland and Scotland, and it's found in wild woods in England, assigned to the genus of Polygonatum. It is a medicinal herb that has different health-healing properties. Solomon Seal grows in moist and well-drained soil, in part or full shade. It does not do well in hot summer environments but performs well in cold sun-spotted areas.

Solomon Seal forms colonies in an ideal growing setting by spreading its thick stems. It grows to 18-24 inches tall; It grows on arching and unbranched stems; Each stem is 18 inches long. The stem grows separately from the root, clad by 8-17 inches to oval rectangle-like leaves. The leaves turn one way, bend somewhat upward to one side, and have a marked ribbing on their exteriors. When they fall, the leaves turn to an attractive yellow color — greenish-white tube-shaped flowers that drop from the leaf axils under and along with the arching stalks.

Solomon Seal plants have a sweet and lily-like scent. The flowers blossom in the early summer, followed by beautiful overhanging blue-black like berries a size of a pea that falls and drops down from the plant axis.

Having a garden is blissful. The scented flowers, the sound of cooing birds, the splash of beautiful colors, so peaceful! Solomon's Seal is a must-have for you if you own a garden. This plant is so adorable it was named the 2013 Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association.

Solomon's Seal (genus Polygonatum) is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the lily family (Liliaceae). It can be located in the Northern hemisphere from southern Saskatchewan to the Maritimes. The marks on this plant's underground stem resemble King Solomon's sixth Seal, which earned it the name Solomon seal.

Solomon Seal is perfect for shady woodland gardens where it can grow undisturbed. It grows in moist woods and brushwoods with greenish-white pendant flowers, leaves, and stems reaching 1 meter high. It produces blue to blue-black berries that serve as a food source, cosmetic resource, and medicinal herbs for bruises and headaches. Propagating this plant can be done quickly by division of the clump or by seed. Cultivating this plant using the seed takes two years to break the seed inactivity and then 2-3 years for the plant to sprout and migrate to a garden.

Cultivating the Solomon Seal by dividing the stems provides attractive plants at a quicker rate but requires cautiousness. The stems need to be separated late in the winter before plants grow and are buried in a shaded area. It is always better to leave plenty of room for them to spread when they have been initially planted.

After cultivating them, caring for the Solomon Seal requires constant watering until the plant is fully established. This helps to keep the soil consistently moist. Further actions won't be required to protect them from pests as there are no severe insects or diseases to threaten them. So they can quickly multiply by stems in the garden.

    Solomon Seal

This would go along nicely with other shrubs and the rest of perennial flowers that can accent with this. I have tried this in my space and I so love when birds gather around.
