Due to the less-than-ideal temperature, the trees do not continuously flower when these requirements are met. The dogwood tree comes in over thirty varieties, with white and pink being the most popular. The dogwood tree's tale dates back to biblical times. The crucifixion of Christ is reported to have taken place on a cross made of wood from the dogwood tree. According to mythology, Christ's crucifixion hindered the development of the tree. The tree used to be much bigger and taller than it is now. It is employed as ornamental decoration in today's society and adds a lovely color display to any yard.

Quinine was commonly used to relieve discomfort in malaria or leg cramps. The white Dogwood's bark is high in a mineral called tannin. Tannin can be used as a mineral quinine replacement. The tree's bark was also used to brush the pioneers' teeth. So, while these trees are primarily ornamental today, they were helpful to pioneers in the past. Dogwood trees are low-maintenance and may add a lot of beauty to the landscape. The trees are disease-resistant and hardy. They don't require particular care and only occasional pruning to look their best.

These trees are one of the most prevalent in the United States and can be found in almost every state. Dogwood Trees often have blooms in the spring and summer, but you'll typically notice leaves on them before they turn a magnificent scarlet or purple in the fall. You'll find white blossoms that might sometimes resemble pale pink when the tree blooms in the spring. These flowers are frequently one of the first indicators of spring.

These Trees don't require a lot of attention. They can also develop more quickly once they've been planted, especially if they're in a region where there's a lot of rain. If they are not trimmed back, they can reach about 25 feet in zones 5 to 9. The trunk can grow up to 12 inches in diameter depending on the nourishment it receives.
