Natchez White Crepe Myrtle

Lagerstroemia 'Natchez' is a sun-loving deciduous flowering tree that will flourish in USDA plant hardiness zones 7 through 10. Its impressive clusters of angelic white blooms show off for four to six weeks in the summer.

This species is a smaller tree, growing to a maximum size of 25 feet. However, some train it to grow low and shaped more like a shrub. On the other hand, some prune it, removing the lowest branches as it matures to give it a taller, straighter look. Either way is acceptable; it comes down to your individual preference.

The care requirements of this species are straightforward. Once you give it a full sun location, plant and fertilize it, and provide water for the first several weeks, it will strengthen and grow relatively fast.

Why Wholesale Nursery Sells Thousands of Crepe Myrtles Every Year

Here are three reasons the Natchez crepe myrtle is a Wholesale Nursery customer favorite:

  • Hardiness: The Natchez crepe myrtle is a native species to Korea and China but is well-suited to North American climates. It resists disease, pests, wind damage, mildew, heat, frost, and drought. However, if it ever does receive any damage, it generally recovers well and quickly.
  • Beauty: American gardeners long ago recognized the beauty of this tree and integrated it into their landscape plans. It is now a prevalent tree in many gardens, especially in the mid-south and southeastern regions and across the lower Great Plains and midwest states.
  • Wildlife: Whether you love watching bees, birds, or butterflies, the Natchez crepe myrtle will attract them, one and all, to your yard. These pollinators will enjoy the lush, shady tree canopy, and pollinating insects will feast on the large, lovely flowers when they arrive for the season. As the flowers fade, small brown seed pods appear--and the birds will enjoy pecking at these as their dining options grow scarcer into the early autumn.

Natchez Crepe Myrtle Brings Genuine Beauty to Your Landscape

The pristine white flowers make a grand entrance just as the mid-summer heat begins to wither your late-spring flowers. May petite florets combine into impressively-sized clusters and emerge with the appearance of enormous flowers on your crepe myrtle trees.
