Nine Bark Brush Layers, Physocarpus Opulifolius is a Medium Maintenance, All-Weather Shrub

Nine Bark Live Stakes is also known as Physocarpus opulifolius. Hardy in planting zones 2-8. The growth rate at maturity can reach 5-8 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide. These shrubs will have a showy white or pink bloom from May to June. This plant is tolerant of drought, erosion, clay soil, dry soil, and even shallow rocky soil. This medium maintenance plant likes more dry soil.

Plant in part shade and medium to dry, average soil; it will tolerate various soil conditions. Prune if needed right after flowering, and if rejuvenation is required, this plant can be cut down to the ground in winter. No actual severe disease or pest problems and can be mass for shrub borders. This plant can grow in the harshest of environments.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants

Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receiving unless weather-related problems prohibit planting. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water for the first week daily after planting.
